Aus T20 League 2022

Match 15- SIX vs STA

Preview

Sixers and Stars will lock horns in match 15 of the ongoing edition of the Australian T20 League at the iconic Sydney Cricket Ground, Sydney on Monday. So far, each of these clubs have enjoyed a similar start to the campaign. With two points in three games, the Stars are sixth in the rankings, while the Sixers are seventh, with just net run rate separating them. The Sixers will be buoyed by their recent victory, while the Stars will be aiming to get back on track.

Sixers performed well with the ball in their last outing, defeating Hobart Hurricanes by six runs while defending their first innings total of 136. The Stars were defeated last time out, but only by 61 runs after being given 230 to win by the Perth Scorchers.

Last season, the Sixers dominated both games, winning by 152 runs and seven wickets. With Kurtis Patterson and Josh Philippe scoring runs against the Hurricanes, the Stars' speed assault will be exciting to watch. Patterson hit 38 off 25 balls, while Philippe annihilated the opposing bowling with a 21-ball 43.

Their spin pair, Todd Murphy and Steve O'Keefe, bowled well in the last encounter and will be crucial against the Stars' batting order. The difficulty for both teams' pacers will be rebounding back, especially following a poor showing in their previous trip.

Hot Fantasy Picks

Wicket Keeper

Josh Philippe: The explosive opening batter got runs in the last game against the Hurricanes. We back him to do well in this game as well.

Joe Clarke: The wicketkeeper batter smashed the only hundred this season. He hasn’t done much after that but he possesses enough class, talent and potential to turn things around.

Batters

James Vince: The stylish top order batter has failed to create any impact this season. But that doesn't change the fact that he has impressive figures in the T20 format.

Nick Larkin: He is a more than handy batter down the order. His late blitz at the back end of the innings has proved fruitful for the Stars over the years.

All Rounders

Marcus Stoinis: The destructive all rounder has looked jaded in this tournament thus far. Nothing has gone in his favour either with bat or ball in hand, but we fancy him to shine for his side in this game.

Bowlers

Trent Boult: The left arm pacer from New Zealand started this tournament with a bang but has struggled to get going as the tournament has progressed. The Kiwi speedster is recognised for his prowess with the new ball. He will enjoy bowling on this SCG wicket.

Naveen Ul Haq: The Afganistan star was bagged by Lucknow for INR 50 Lakh in the just concluded Ind T20 League 2023 auction. He is clever with his pace deceptions and is widely regarded for his heroics during the death overs.
