Australian T20 League 2022
Match 19- HEA vs THU

Preview:

The 19th match of the tournament between HEA vs THU will be played on 29 December at Carrara Oval, Queensland. This match will start at 12:35 PM (IST). With Thunders’ skipper Jason Sangha out injured, the Thunder have lost momentum after a good start and currently are in the 5th place of the table of the Australian T20 League. Despite that, they performed brilliantly in the last match.

Having lost the previous match, the Heat come into this contest with a good mindset, with Sam Billings and Colin Munro looking in good touch in their last matches. But Thunders' bowlers had other plans and they bowled accurate line and length against the Heat. They capitalised the pitch properly and restricted them to under 125 runs.

THU annihilated HEA and handed them a 10-wicket defeat on Tuesday. With the win, Sydney also opened their account in the Australian T20 League 2022-23. Sydney openers Alex Hales and Matthew Gilkes chased the target of 122 runs within mere 11.4 overs. Although Heat won the toss against Thunder and elected to bat 1st, their innings never got any momentum whatsoever. Heat could manage only 121/6 in their allotted 20 overs, thanks to some excellent bowling from Thunder. Green and Sams took two wickets apiece.

For Thunders, Matthew Gilkes scored an unbeaten 56 runs along with Hales, who also scored 59 runs in that match. The wicketkeeper batter Gilkes won the Man of the Match award for his incredible showcase with the bat which included 6 fours and 3 sixes against the Heat. Both teams will try to pick a win and keep alive their hopes of finishing in the top four.
