Aus T20 League 2022

Match 28- SIX vs HEA

Preview

Three days after their high-scoring encounter at the Gabba, Sixers and Heat will lock horns for the second time in match number 28 of the Aus T20 League 2022. Sixers made a terrible start to this season, losing two back to back games on the bounce before making an emphatic comeback with four wins on the trot. Their four match winning streak came to an end on Sunday when they suffered a 15 run loss against the Heat. With 8 points from seven games, the defending champions are currently placed at third in the league standings. On a day where 455 runs across the two innings, Sixers put on a valiant fight with the likes of James Vince, Jordan Silk and Hayden Kerr playing quick cameos. Their strength lies in their batting depth.

Having won only two out of eight games, the men in blue are languishing at the bottom of the table. They will take some confidence following their clinical win over the Sixers. Batting first the Brisbane based franchise put on a mammoth total of 224/5. Josh Brown and Nathan McSweeney who were included in Heat’s playing XI for the first time this season stole the show with bat in hand. While Brown startled everyone with his exceptional power hitting, Mcsweeney proved his value with his controlled caution. The former smashed a 23 ball 62 to provide his side a flying start. His explosive innings was studded with four 4s and six 6s. McSweeney on the other hand first played an ideal second fiddle to Brown then later after his departure went berserk, scoring a 51 ball 84 to power his side to a monumental first innings total. Micheal Neser and Micheal Kuhnemann then stepped in with ball to restrict Sydney to 209. Ahead of this enthralling clash, let us have a look at how these two teams will fare out on Wednesday.

Hot Fantasy Picks

(i) Wicket Keeper

Josh Philippe- The dashing opener has shown good form off late. He didn’t start the tournament well but as it has progressed, the 25 year old has looked comfortable. Expect Philippe to fetch you good points in this game.

(ii) Batsmen

Josh Brown- He played a blinder of a knock at the top of the order to propel his side to a gigantic total. Brown cleared the fence with ridiculous ease and hardly faced any trouble during his 23 ball knock. Expect the hard hitting batter to continue his lethal form.

Nathan McSweeney- The right handed batter was the pick of Heat batters during the last meeting. He registered a well compiled 84 to put his team on the front foot going into the break.

(iii) All Rounders

Hayden Kerr- With 10 wickets in the ongoing edition, the 26 year old is yet to disappoint with ball in hand. In the last game, he even proved his mettle with the bat, smashing a 15 ball 27.

Sean Abott- Abbott has been a vital part of this Sixers unit. Over the years, he has won numerous games for his side with both bat and ball in hand. So, despite his disappointing performance in the most recent encounter, we back the 30 year old to come good.

Micheal Neser- The 32 year old took a three-fer and grabbed a stunning catch to shift the game in Heat’s favour on Sunday. The Aussie veteran is a proven game changer and we can likely witness one of his match defining moments in match 28. He has claimed 10 wickets in just 5 matches and is amongst the leading wicket takers in the competition.

(iv) Bowlers

Ben Dwarshius- He will pose a serious threat to the Heat batters with his express pace and bounce. Apart from his genius with ball in hand, Dwarshius is more than handy with bat in hand down the order.

Match Prediction

Despite the loss in the last game, SIX will fancy their chances against an erratic Heat side. We back them to win this encounter and move up the points table.
