India Women will start their World Cup preparation by playing against the Australian side in a five-match T20I series which is going to begin on Friday.  December 9. Hrishikesh Kanitkar is the new batting coach of the Women in Blue. Also, in the absence of Meg Lanning, who is on an indefinite break, Alyssa Healy will take charge of the side. 

The Harmanpreet Kaur-led side has a good touch of cricket in the T20I format. India Women finished second in the Commonwealth Games T20 in the current year and later won an ODI series in England. India also defeated their neighbours, Sri Lanka, in a three-match T20I series. The only defeat that they succumbed to in the shortest format of the game came against England. Except that, the Indian side has performed well with all players being confident. Players leading the charge are Harmanpreet Kaur and Smriti Mandana. The two stalwarts have saved team India on many occasions. 

Jemimah Rodrigues is also in good touch. The bowling side also looks powerful with Radha Yadav, Renuka Thakur and Meghna Singh bowling perfectly. There is just a small thing to worry about is in the form of Shafali Verma who currently seems to be out of form. The Australian side is also doing well and has the services of Tahlia McGrath and Gardner Beth Moone. The talisman all-rounder Ellyse Perry has also performed well in the Australian T20 League which is a good sign for the Aussie side in the absence of their regular skipper Meg Lanning.

Match Prediction

Australia will miss the services of  Meg Lanning their skipper and a very experienced player. The Indian side, on the other hand, seems to be well-balanced and we expect them to win the first T20I match against the Aussies.
