Australian T20 League 2022

Match 33- SCO vs HEA

Preview

The 33rd Match of the Australian T20 League will be played between Perth and Brisbane on the 7th of January 2023 in Perth Stadium at 03:45 IST. Scorchers are having a great tournament till 7th game as they stand on the cliff of the points table with 10 points (five wins and two losses in seven games). On the other hand, Heat has only two moments of joy in this league in seven matches (two wins and four losses with one ‘No Result’ in seven matches). This match will be crucial for HEA as they want to give themselves a chance to be in the top 4 of the league. On the other side, SCO seeks to win this match to maintain their leading position in the table, as they are followed by THU with the same 10 points.

SCO will look into his batting department, as they rely heavily on Josh Inglis, Faf Du Plessis, and Aaron Hardie. However, they got some batting positives from the last match, where Skipper Turner scored valuable 61 runs with three 4s and three 6s. They also got lower-order contributions from Matt Kelly and Andrew Tye.

If Perth stands at the top of the tally, the big reason is their bowlers. Jhye Richardson, Jason Behrendorff, Andrew Tye, and Ashton Turner’s bowling attack looked brilliant till the last match.

Even if the Heat is in second-to-last place, Colin Munro's current batting performance with 233 total runs is still a plus. Munro recently scored 98 runs against the Thunder; he was unfortunate not to reach the century mark. However, if Munro continues to play this well, then he must be a danger mark for SCO.

Jimmy Peirson is said to be one of the team's finest hitters, so we're expecting to see a little more of him, but we're still waiting for a game to showcase his skills properly. Peirson must do better if Brisbane wants to go further in the league.

Neser, Steketee, and Swepson, three of the finest young Australian bowlers, form one of the league's top bowling combinations for the Heat.

This will be a fun-to-watch game, as both teams will get crucial benefits if they win this one.

Pitch and Weather Report

Perth Pitch always assists a good fast bowling unit. It always gives that Hard and extra bounce, which terrifies the batters, the recent example of this is Jhye Richardson, who took four wickets against STA and was the Man of the Match.

There’s a chance of a Forecast on the match day. The highest and lowest temperature would be 26 and 16 degrees Celsius. The wind speed will be around 20 km/h in the Northwest direction, making the pacers more lethal.

Hot Fantasy Picks

(i) Wicket Keeper

Josh Inglis: Josh Inglis, the batter who has scored 240 runs in the BBL, has been a significant factor in Perth's success, as the team has been racking up victories. Inglis went out for 27 against the Renegades, perilously close to a half-century, but has previously amassed everyone with the high scores of 62 and 74.

(ii) Batsmen

Faf Du Plessis: Faf du Plessis is currently the third-highest scorer of SCO. He made 163 runs in seven matches with an average of 23.28 and over 150 strike rate. He can hit whenever or wherever he can with his acceptable range, which shows his ability to take the game to the end.

Colin Munro: Munro, as we said earlier, is in fantastic form. He scored an enormous 98 against THU and some runs after that too. So if he gains the form on the match day, then he’s unstoppable for everyone.

(iii) All-Rounders

Ashton Turner: Ashton Turner, Inglis' co-star, has been similarly deadly this season and has recently posted scores of 61 and 53 in the last game. In addition, he provides the finishing touches to the team with his big hits.

Michael Neser: Despite being a batting all-rounder, Neser is the highest wicket-taker for Brisbane till now this season. He has ten wickets in his bag and 67 runs in 6 matches. He will be a good all-rounder option for your fantasy 11.

(iv) Bowlers

Jhye Richardson: A pacer who has played a significant amount of time with Australia in international matches poses the Heat's greatest bowling danger. Richardson is a threat to Brisbane with his 15 wickets this year.

Mark Steketee: Mark Steketee will be a good medium-fast bowling option on Perth’s surface. He can use the wind to get more swing on his excellent line and length deliveries. He is the second-highest wicket-taker for HEA till now.

Match Prediction

Both teams have a decent bowling attack, but Perth got some quality in their squad. As per the recent forms and the team’s strength and formation, we are backing SCO to win this match.
