Australian T20 League 2022

Match 8- HUR vs SCO

Preview

The eighth match of the Australian T20 League between title defenders Scorchers and Two times runner-ups Hurricanes will occur on December 19th, 2022, at 01:45 PM IST. Both teams depend significantly on their batting side, as both have some fantastic hitters. But the case of SCO is slightly different from HUR, as they have an excellent bowling unit that supports them if the batters fail.

HUR lost their first match against STA. Bowlers leaked a lot of runs as Joe Clarke hit a ton. When they came to bat, they lost their nine wickets at a score of 145.

Scorchers are, as always, a champion side, and they played their last match with the same reputation. Even SCO lost their nine wickets like HUR, but they managed to reach a respectable total of 155 with the help of Aaron Hardie’s 55. The rest of the work was done by the 4-for of the star bowler Jhye Richardson.

Pitch and Weather Report

Launceston is a pitch where only a few matches are played. But as per their records and the match day weather, it can be a mid scoring match around 140-155 Runs. As per the records, pitch gets easy in second innings to bat, so the toss will be crucial for this match. Regarding weather, the highest and lowest temperatures of the day will be 24 and 8 degree Celsius. Wind will blow at a pace of 14 to 16 km/h in the North-West direction. It means it will assist some swing bowlers too.

Hot Fantasy Picks

 Wicket Keeper

Matthew Wade: Hurricane’s Captain and Wicket Keeper Matthew Wade was the best man in their last match against STA. Wade Score the highest 35 runs at a strike rate of just 100. But Wade can turn the tables of a game anytime.

Josh Inglis: Josh failed to impress with the bat in the first match, scoring 13 runs with only two fours. But that inning couldn’t justify his destructive ability to hit, so he will be a good fantasy pick.

Batsmen

Faf Du Plessis: The former South African Captain and Opener couldn’t bat as expected from him. But with the mixture of steady and aggressive batting, he will be a good pick for your fantasy team.

Tim David: Former Hong Kong batter and current Australian hitter Tim David is known worldwide for his Six hitting ability. In his last encounter, he scored 24 Runs with a strike rate of 141.28 with two fours and one six. This gameplay can give you more and more points to your fantasy team.

All Rounders

James Neesham: Kiwi All-rounder Neesham is mainly known for his batting, but he can bowl at a good pace, which gives your team a flexible option.

Aaron Hardie: Aaron Hardie was the out-of-syllabus question for the Sixers in the last match from Scorchers. He was the highest scorer for his team, putting SCO at a respectable total of 155.

Bowlers

Jhye Richardson: Jhye Thrashed Sixers with his four wickets in his previous match. He was also very economical, giving only nine runs in his spell, along with a maiden. Richardson will be a perfect C/VC option on the bowling surface.

Riley Meredith: In a match where other bowlers struggled to take wickets, Meredith’s two wickets helped HUR to stop STA below 190.

Match Prediction

This match will be exciting, as SCO will want to continue their four-match-winning streak. At the same time, HUR will put in a team effort to beat the SCO on a mediocre batting surface. Considering the current form, we fancy SCO to get the job done and extend their winning streak to five games.
