Australian T20 League 2022

Match 12- STA vs SCO

Preview

The 12 Match of the Australian T20 League between STA and SCO will be played on Friday, December 23, 2022, at Junction Oval, Melbourne. This will be the first match on this ground, and both teams are hereafter one win and one loss.

STA lose their first match against THU with a margin of one wicket. It was a nail-biting low-scoring match where STA gave a tough fight to THU. It was the first match of this season also. STA bowled well and took THU’s nine wickets while defending a total of 122 runs. Alex Ross Scored the highest 28 runs in 27 balls, including three 4s. From the bowling side, Nathan Coulter Nile was brilliant. He took the highest three wickets along with Adam Zampa, Beau Webster, and Trent Boult, who shared two wickets each.

Talking about SCO, they started their campaign well and won their first match against SIX by 38 runs. But SCO’s batting collapsed in the first match, and they scored 155 runs with the help of Aaron Hardie’s 55 (five 4s and three 6s) in 32 balls. After that, however, SCO’s bowling was good, as Jhye Richardson impressed with his exceptional pace and length. Richardson was the highest wicket-taker (4-1-9-4) and most economical bowler from his side and was awarded the Man of the Match award.

The second match could have been better for the SCO. It was a high-scoring encounter, and SCO was blown away by the storming knocks of Captain Matthew Wade (51 for 29 balls) and Tim David (46* for 28 balls).

It will be an exciting match to see which team will go ahead in the team’s table.

Hot Fantasy Picks

Wicket Keeper

Joe Clarke: This will be the best pick for your fantasy team if you consider his previous performance. Joe Clarke scored a marvelous 101* in 66 balls with nine 4s and two big hits.

Batsmen

Josh Inglis: Josh Inglis is another wicketkeeper batter in great touch this season. Inglis scored a stunning 62* in 37 deliveries with four 4s and three 6s. Josh bats in the middle order, giving your fantasy team a perfect balance of batters and keepers.

Beau Webster: Beau Webster played a short but quick and significant knock in both matches. He can give rapid points to your fantasy team with his pinch-hitting.

Webster can also give you 4 overs bowling options, where he can pick some crucial wickets.

All Rounders

Marcus Stoinis: Unfortunately, Stoinis failed to impress in both matches. He scored nil in both, and one of them was a golden duck.  But we are backing him because of his match-changing ability. He can change any match with his stupendous batting and good-length bowling.

Ashton Turner: Turner is the current Captain of the best team in the tournament Scorchers. As the name suggests, he can turn any game with his bat and ball on his day. In the last match, turner scored a crucial 20 runs and built a 74-run partnership with Josh Inglis. He also bowled an over where he conceded only 5 runs.

Bowlers

Jhye Richardson: Richardson is the gun bowler of his side, and he can turn down some quick wickets with the new ball. Jhye can also bowl in death overs, where he can pick crucial wickets with his excellent line and length.

Trent Boult: If SCO has Jhye Richardson, then STA has Trent Boult for early wickets. With his fierce in-swing bowling, Boult is an expert at down opponent’s openers.

Match Prediction

Looking at the points tally, STA (3rd) is one rank ahead of SCO (4th). It will be a nail-biting match, and according to the pitch, weather, and team combination, we are backing SCO to win this game.
