The fifth match of the Bangladesh T20 League will be between COV and SYL on Monday, 9th of January 2023, at 01:30 PM in Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium. The 2022 season was quite different for both teams, with the Strikers coming in last place and the Comilla squad winning the championship. The COV, led by Liton Das, who has been Bangladesh's finest batsman in recent months, also boasts a strong bowling attack, with Mustafizur Rahman at the helm and seasoned all-rounders like SC Williams and Mohammad Nabi.

The SYL  have started their 2023 season with a great victory after a disappointing previous year. Rejaur Rahman Raja shone with a magnificent four-wicket stint as the Strikers lowered the Chattogram to 89. Their hitters easily surpassed the total with eight overs remaining in the innings.

From SYL, the eyes will stick again on the performances of Najmul Hasan Shanto, Rejaur Rahman Raja, Mohammad Amir, and Mashrafe Mortaza. On the other hand, COV will look out for their batting as they failed to chase a total of 177 despite having names like Skipper Litton Das, Dawid Malan, Imrul Kayes, and Mohammad Nabi. The bowling unit (Mustafizur Rahman, Fazalhaq Farooqi, and Ashiqur Zaman) will also be under pressure in this match.
