Match 18: BFC vs. MCFC 

Preview 

After a great start to the league, Bengaluru has lost their momentum and has earned only two points from their last two fixtures. Mumbai on the other hand demolished Mohun Bagan in their previous match by 5-1. Two teams will be looking for a win for obvious reasons but things might not be easy and simple for Bengaluru.

They are no way close to their Durand Cup form where the Blues played the semi-finals but went down to Goa. By the looks of it, the team is playing lazy football and is almost dead in the counter attacks. It is because of their defense that the team has earned two points from their last two matches. Sunil Chhetri is yet to join the party and Udanta Singh’s form is a big question mark. The team desperately needs a good foreign player like they used to have. Miku used to gel well with Sunil and that’s why they used to score so many goals. That’s not the case now and they fail to build pressure on the opposition. Against Mumbai Marco Pezzaiuoli’s boys will face a very tough challenge and they need to counter well to put any kind of pressure on Mourtada Fall and team. They can beat them with pace, maybe not by technicality.

Mumbai are looking like the favourites to win the championship. They did go down to Hyderabad but against Mohun Bagan, one of the strongest teams of the season, they bounced back and boy did they dominate! It was Man vs. Boys and that proves how strong the side is. They are a very well oiled team and have covered all the sides very well. The youngsters in their team are playing superb football and most importantly, they have the skill as well as technique to outclass any team.
