Reigning champions, Sixers will face high flying Strikers in the Challenger of Aus T20 League 2021-22 at the iconic Sydney Cricket Ground on Wednesday. The Sixers had a very good opportunity of making it to the finals as they had qualified for the qualifier by finishing in the top two at the end of  the league stages. However they suffered a crushing 48 run loss against Scorchers and will now have to beat Strikers to secure a place in the final of the T20 competition. Strikers on the other hand will be riding high on confidence after a dominant performance in the Eliminator. 

Both Sixers and Strikers are evenly matched but the men in pink will have a slight advantage over their opposition. They will be familiar with the conditions and will look to make the most of it. Henriques and co have met Strikers on two occasions during the group stages. And while they got the better of them in the first game, Strikers bounced back strongly to emerge victorious in the second fixture. The hosts will rely heavily on their veterans to deliver with both bat and ball. All rounders Dan Christian and Moises Henriques will be eager to continue their impressive all round show. Josh Philippe will shoulder the batting responsibility. He has had a string of low scores in the recent games but we still believe the upcoming wicket keeper batsman to come good against the Strikers. Bowling department comprises the likes of Abott, Dwarshius and Kerr. The pace trio has done well with ball in hand and skipper Henriques will be anticipating them to provide quick breakthroughs. 

Strikers have been on a hot streak lately. Return of Carey at the top of the batting order has sorted out their opening concerns whereas the bowling prowess has done exceptionally well to regain momentum. Peter Siddle has led the bowling attack and was the pick of the Adelaide bowlers with 29 wickets in the bag. He has worked well in tandem with Cornway and Thorton. Their batting department also looks solid with the likes of Carey, Short Cockbain and Wells. In the last game against Canes, Strikers put up a spirited all round show. Cockbain scored a brisk knock of 65 to help his side put up a competitive total on the board. Peter Siddle then starred with the ball and powered the Strikers to the Challenger round.
