“He believes he can do anything”, Dwaine Pretorius on MS Dhoni

Despite getting few opportunities to represent Chennai in this season, Dwaine Pretorius has impressed most of the fans this season. His all-round ability can make him an integral part of the squad going forward and has the ability to replace the legendary Dwaine Bravo in the coming years. Indian T20 League has changed a lot of lives and it might eventually change Pretorius’ life as the South African has spoken how his mindset changed after spending a season with Captain Cool Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

“I really enjoyed playing under Dhoni as well and batting with him, seeing the brand value he has in India just shows how big he is and what he has done for the sport in this country. It was awesome being a part of that”. The 33-year-old added, “playing alongside Dhoni has been my biggest gain. The biggest thing that I observed is how calm he is at the crease, the way he takes the pressure off himself and tries to put it on to the bowler. He made me realise that at the death it's the bowlers who are under pressure. It was a fresh mindset and also, he doesn't get too excited and is always optimistic”.

Having the experience of playing the toughest T20 league in the world, he can eventually help his team win their first World Series. The South African team has a lot of potential and if guided well, can actually create a lot of damage at Australia later this year.

Talking more about the four-times Indian T20 League winning captain, Pretorius said, "He believes he can do anything, and going forward, I am going to bring his calmness and self-belief into my game".

Speaking about his experience with Chennai in the Indian T20 League, the Proteas said, “Playing my first Indian T20 League was a great experience. It was one of my bucket list items to get the opportunity to play for Chennai, one of the most successful franchises. I enjoyed every moment of it. You get a lot of responsibility as a player”.
