India Women’s Team faced a heart-breaking 2-1 loss in the three-match T20I series previously against the home team. Although they started on a high note in the ODI series by bagging a 7-wicket win to seal the first match of the series. India Women needs just one more match to seal the series without taking the game further into a final series decider match. 

Also, bold efforts from Jhulan Goswami with the ball, and extensive batting efforts from Smriti Mandhana, Harmanpreet Kaur and Yastika Bhatia, helped India secure a victory in the first ODI. 

On the other side, Danni Wyatt and Alice Davidson-Richards were commendable with the bat in the first innings, which helped England post a competing total but all went in vain as India chased the total with 34 balls and 7 wickets to spare.
