Manchester United plays their best football to win against Brentford in the Premier League

Wow! What a performance from the Red Devils when they challenged Brentford at the Theatre of Dreams last night. Mata, who got his first start of the season in the Premier League dominated the match and gave United a much needed force in the midfield. Matic was a beast and defence was so much better without Harry Maguire in it. Even after that, it is now quite evident that players like Matic and Mata have played their last match at Old Trafford and will leave the club at the end of the season.

Brentford, who was promoted to the Premier League this season hasn’t been like that of Leeds of the previous season or like Wolves when they were promoted. Against them, United started really well as Bruno Fernandez scored the first goal of the match before Ronaldo’s goal was cancelled by VAR before the half-time.

Bruno was struggling to score and was struggling with his form to gain some momentum with the goal and build up for the next season. Cristiano converted a penalty in the second half before Raphael Varane scored his first ever goal for the Red Devils. Overall, it was a very healthy performance from the team and if they would’ve played like this throughout the season, they would’ve at least qualified for the Champions League by now.

That road is now close and the team will fight for a Europa League spot now. A lot of players will be leaving the club in the next month or so and out of which Cristiano Ronaldo can be one. Ralf Rangnick, the interim coach of the team will be coaching the Austrian side and couldn't really shed some light on the future of this legend. Edinson Cavani will be moving to Spain while Pogba, Lingard and Martial are expected to leave as well. The club will start fresh under new manager Erik Ten Hag and the expectations will once again be high. The team needs to improve in every department as they need fullbacks, 2 mid-fielders and one number 9 and a winger. Rest, it’s manageable if not good. Except Cristiano and De Gea and somewhat Varane, the entire team needs to step up if they want to stay at Manchester next season.
