Gill and Pujara score a hundred to set a massive target against Bangladesh

 

BAN vs IND 1st Test, Day 3: The third day of the first Test match between Bangladesh and India at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram was also named for Team India. After getting Bangladesh all out for 150 runs in the first innings, Team India's batters also wreaked havoc in the batting in the second innings. Despite having a lead of more than 200 runs in the first innings, Team India did not give follow on to the Bangladeshi side.

India declared the innings after scoring 258 runs for 2 wickets in the second innings. Team India set a target of mammoth 513 runs for Bangladesh in the ongoing first test. In the second innings for Team India, Shubman Gill scored his maiden test hundred and played a superb inning of 110 runs while Pujara scored an unbeaten 102 runs and ended his 3-years long hundred drought. Kohli also remained unbeaten after scoring 19 runs. Kohli and Pujara shared a 75-run partnership off 73 balls for the third wicket.

Bangladesh needs 513 runs to win the test match with two days of play still to left. At the end of the third day's play, the Bangladesh team scored 41 runs in 12 overs without losing any wickets. Najmul Hossain Shanto is unbeaten after scoring 22 runs while Zakir Hasan is at the crease after scoring 19 runs. Bangladesh team still has to score 471 runs to win this match, while Team India needs 10 wickets to win.
