Match 22: HFC vs. BFC

Preview

After a decent start in the season, both the teams are desperately looking for a win as they will move into the top four of the tournament. The blues hasn’t been quite organised defensively and that is bothering Marco Pezzaiuoli’s side. Hyderabad on the other side is a very unpredictable side as they defeated the giants Mumbai by 3-1 but could manage only one point against the red miners.

The coach Marco in the pre match press conference was asked about Hyderabad FC and their preparation for the match, to which the gaffer said, “It will be a very difficult game against Hyderabad, they did well against Mumbai, they have a mix of good youngsters, who played in the U23 Indian side, and also experienced foreign players”.

He further added, “They know how they want to play, they make good transitions, they have quick players, they have experienced players like Bartholomew Ogbeche. Also good players for headers in set pieces. It is a good team I think, one of the better teams in the league”. Sunil Chhetri is yet to come to party for the Blues and that is bothering the side. There are a lot of new players and even after playing so many games, it looks like the players haven’t gelled with each other like they should have been. Against Hyderabad, if they keep their defence intact, Bengaluru may earn some points.

Hyderabad will be looking to register their second win of the season and what better than beating a former champion? Coach Manuel Marquez however is very cautious before facing the blues. In the pre match press conference, he said, “(It will be) very difficult, like every game. Of course they have some big names in Indian football and personally, they have some young players that will be significant in the future. I like their style of play; they play quality football, and their coach is brave too. They attack with a lot of players, and I believe it will be an interesting game for sure”.

Speaking about the goal scoring machine Ogbeche, the coach said that we should expect more goals from him. “Ogbeche has scored 40 goals in the last four seasons with four different teams. We can expect goals from him. Two goals in three games are great figures for a centre forward”.
