2nd ODI: IND vs WI 

Preview 

India and West Indies will lock horns in the second ODI of the three match series at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad on Wednesday. After an easy win in the series opener, the hosts will be keen to carry on the winning momentum. West Indies on the other hand will look to put on an improved show and keep the series alive. 

Windies were outplayed in all three departments in the last game. Batting first, the visitors were bundled out for 176. Former skipper, Jason Holder was the top scorer with 57. Yuzi Chahal was the pick of the Indian bowlers. The right arm leg spinner ended with match figures of 4/49. He enjoyed good support from Prasidh, Sundar and Siraj at the other end. Sundar and Siraj in particular were  quite impressive with the new ball which has been India’s weakness in recent times. The partly total of 176 was chased down with ridiculous ease. Skipper Rohit quickfire 60 took his team over the line in just 28 overs. 

The visitors were below par in the opening game. Pollard and co will be eager to bounce back and regain momentum in the three match series. Windies top order collapsed like a house of cards. Opener Shai Hope showed a glimpse of promise during his stay at the crease but eventually perished trying to drive a ball exposing a gap between bat and pad. Nicolas Pooran and Darren Bravo were unassertive with their footwork and didn’t know how to pace their innings. The senior pros will need to show proper application with bat in hand and understand their responsibility within the team.
