Groups announced for T20 World Series, India vs Pakistan to be played on Oct 23

The much-awaited announcement has finally been made and with that it’s now official that Team India will challenge Pakistan on 23rd of October at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground. The men in blue also have South Africa and Bangladesh in their group. While group A has the likes of England, New Zealand, Australia and Afghanistan. A total of four teams will qualify from the qualifications and will join these two groups.

Like the last T20 World Series, team India is once again in a much easier group and the fans will definitely expect them to qualify for the later stages of the tournament. More than that, the fans would want to beat Pakistan desperately. The last time India faced Pakistan, they were all over the Indian team and no batter could throw an answer to them. The men in blue will thus be charged up to face Pakistan on October 23.

This will also be Rohit Sharma’s first international tournament. Under Virat Kohli, team India hasn’t won any tournament and thus he was dropped the ODI captaincy. Under Rohit, India will be having two mega tournaments and the pressure is such that he needs to win at least one if not two. Thus, this tournament will be very crucial from India’s point of view.

Group 2: India, Pakistan, South Africa, Bangladesh, B1, A2
