Preview 

India and New Zealand will square off in the second T20 match on Sunday, November 20. The weather got the last word in the 1st T20I as the opening game in Wellington was called off without a ball being bowled. Both sides will be hoping for improved weather in Month Maunganui. 

Both sides put up courageous fights in the T20 World Series but failed in the Semis. The Kiwis are regarded to have a good home record, but were defeated last time India arrived for a T20 series. India is also lacking experience, although their side appears to be potent considering their Ind- T20 League experience. 

New Zealand will be without the services of their ace speedster, Trent Boult, who has been rested for this series. Tim Southee will lead the bowling attack in his absence and would look to create considerable impact on the game. The pace prowess also consists of Lockie Ferguson and Blair Tickner. In the batting department Fin Allen has been given the nod ahead of Martin Guptill. The explosive opener started the World Series on a high but failed to maintain consistency throughout the competition. He will be eager to convert his starts into something significant. His opening partner Devon Conway will be another batter to keep an eye on. The southpaw is an attractive strokemaker who likes to constantly keep the scoreboard ticking. Another exciting batter in their lineup is Glen Phillips. The wicket keeper batter was NZ’s standout batter in the just concluded showpiece event. So, overall this Kiwi side looks in good shape. 

India will be looking to start afresh under stand in skipper Hardik Pandya. The team will be without their senior pros Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. While Kohli was in stupendous form in the limited overs format, Sharma struggled to mount runs. Shubhman Gill and Shreyas Iyer, who were not a part of the 15 man squad that toured Australia for the World Series, have got an excellent opportunity to make a name for themselves. Bowling attack comprises a few familiar faces in the form of Arshdeep Singh and Bhuvneshwar Kumar. This series also marks the return of Kuldeep Yadav. It would be interesting to see if the chinaman gets a game. He alongside Yuzvendra Chahal can form a lethal spin duo. Despite the series' evident lack of context, the two sides can see it as an opportunity to rapidly get over the pain of the previous week, when they were eliminated in the semifinals of the World Series despite entering the event as two of many favourites for the trophy.
