Rohit Sharma has been ruled out of the Proteas test series, Priyank Panchal to replace

According to several reports, the new appointed test vice captain and limited over’s captain, Rohit Sharma has been ruled out of the South African test series. This indeed is a huge blow for the Indian team as the other opener Shubman Gill has also been ruled out. Thus, KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal are very likely to open for the team in the testing conditions at South Africa.

Priyank Panchal has been alerted and the youngster is very likely to replace Rohit Sharma. The 5-times Indian T20 League winning captain has suffered an injury while practicing at Bandra Kurla Complex in Mumbai. There’s no confirmed news regarding the same as the board hasn’t issued any statement yet. There’s also no clarity if the Mumbai based cricketer will be available for the One Day Series or not. Rohit also missed the home series against New Zealand after taking a break to manage his workload.

The Gujarat based cricketer, Panchal has done really well with the India A team. Indian Coach Rahul Dravid has worked with the 31-year-old cricketer who has played 100 first class matches and has 24 centuries in his name. With an average of 45.52, Panchal has scored 7,011 runs for his team.
