Justin Langer is interested in coaching England, reports suggest. WHAT?

“Thukra re mera pyaar, mera inteqam dekhegi”? Is it what’s going on in Justin Langer’s head? We are as shocked as the rest of the cricketing world as the Australian media claims that former Australia coach Justin Langer is interested to coach England in the coming days. It has been a month or two when some of the Australian cricketers including test captain Pat Cummins went against him and wanted a new coach on board. Langer was offered a small contract extension until the T20 World Series but the legend of the game denied it and resigned as the head coach with immediate effect.

Australian cricket was in turmoil when JL took charge. Steve Smith and David Warner, two senior cricketers were banned by the board and the team was a mess. Slowly but steadily things changed and Australia won the T20 World Series and thrashed England in the Ashes. He was definitely a hero before the controversies hit. Now, England is in the same position. They have won only one out of the last 17 test matches and the management has already sacked Chris Silverwood, the head coach and others on the board. A new coach will be elected when the team returns from the West Indies and Justin Langer’s name will be right up there if the reports are true that he is interested in the role.

The news is pretty shocking as you don’t see an Aussie coaching an England side. The rivalry is so intense that you can be a villain overnight if the things go in your favour. Langer, who built the perfect team for Australia will be in the England dressing room in Ashes 2023. Imagine the scenes. The team that boycotted Langer will face their former coach in the most anticipated bi-lateral series of the world. Again, if reports are true and if he is made the coach of the England team, get ready for some absolute madness. Langer and his blokes, sorry mates will be hungry.
