Karachi and Multan will kick off the 2022 season of the Pak T20 League at the National Stadium, Karachi on Thursday. This mouthwatering battle will feature two of the hottest names in Pakistan Cricket, Babar Azam and Mohommad Rizwan. Multan won the previous edition under the leadership of Mohommad Rizwan and will be keen to open their 2022 campaign with a win. Karachi on the other hand will be led by Babar Azam for the first time in the history of the T20 competition. The latter have had an upper hand over the reigning champions. Karachi has won five out of eight games against Multan and also won both league games last season. 

The Karachi side will be keen to start the Babar era with a win. They have the necessary resources and a psychological advantage over Multan as they lead the head to head battle against Rizwan and co. Karachi’s batting department has the likes of Babar Azam, Sharjeel Khan and Joe Clarke. While Clarke is coming on the back of a successful Aus T20 League 2022, Sharjeel and Babar will look to continue their heroics from last year. Bowling prowess comprises the services of Mohommad Amir, Imad Wasim and Umaid Asif who are capable enough to rattle the opposition batters. 

Reigning champions, Multan will commence their 2022 campaign against a competitive Karachi unit at the National Cricket Stadium. Led by Mohommad Rizwan the Sultans had an impressive 2021 and as a result were crowned as champions. This year they will be looking to defend their prized possession. Sultans pack a punch with a decent overall squad. They have a quality batting department with Rizwan, Rilee Roussouw in their ranks. Shahnawaz  Dahani who was a vital cog of Sultans triumphant run in 2021 will shoulder the bowling responsibility. With Dominic Drakes and David Willey in the mix, Multan has a decent bowling attack.
