VVS Laxman is expected to coach team India during the South Africa series!

With Rahul Dravid and the first team flying to England in the month of June, NCA chief VVS Laxman is expected to coach the team for the South Africa team and also for a 2-match T20I series against Ireland. Even though nothing is official yet, the senior players including Captain Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, Mohammed Shami, Rishabh Pant are expected to get a break before an important summer in England.

This is not the first time when we will see two teams take the field simultaneously. Last year when team India was preparing for the England series after the World Test Series, we saw then NCA chief Rahul Dravid step up and lead the young troops for a white ball series in Sri Lanka. Something similar is going to happen under VVS Laxman. However, the magnitude is quite high this time as the T20 World Series is knocking on the door and under new captain Rohit Sharma; the team will look for nothing except winning the Championship.

Hardik Pandya or Shikhar Dhawan is expected to lead the side in the absence of the captain and vice captain of the side and players like Mohsin Khan, Umran Malik and others are expected to get their maiden call-up. Their performance will be closely monitored by VVS Laxman and the national chief selectors and these young wizards have impressed everyone in the Indian T20 League. Are they fish of a bigger pond in the form of International cricket? That is exactly what needs to be seen.
