International Cricket Board backs new regime in Cricket Scotland

Cricket Scotland Cricket Scotland have startled the Indian Cricket Board but the world cricket body is expected to back the new cricket regime that will be put in place in the country. Usually interference with the autonomy of a member is not seen lightly by the International Cricket Board but in this case, the all world has decided to support the new regime and its fight against racism and discrimination. 

"Cricket is a sport for everyone and we will support the new Board and leadership at Cricket Scotland as they work to ensure the sport is more diverse and inclusive," a spokesperson for the ICC said in a statement on Monday (July 25)

SportScotland has now taken control from Cricket Scotland and will run till October 2023 by establishing a board by September under the guidelines of having 40% male and 40% female with at least 25 of them from an ethinic community. 

World Cricket were shocked to the core when the entire CS board was compelled to resign ahead of the publication of a review of racism in sports bodies in the nation by SportScotland on Sunday (July 24). The news about Institutional racism in Cricket Scotland was officially confirmed a day later. 

Discrimination of any kind has no place in cricket and everyone involved in the sport has a responsibility to create a safe and welcoming environment," the spokesperson further said.

International cricket board members have been in Birmingham for a series if meetings over the last week and the annual conference on Tuesday will culminate the meetings,

A Cricket Scotland representative was sighted in Birmingham before the publication of the report and mass resignation of the board.
