Ole Gunnar's Solskjaer's future at Man United under the spotlight!

Horrifying will be an understatement to describe Manchester United’s performance in Old Trafford last night. Not just the match against Liverpool but the red devils have been very poor for the majority of this season. After a very good start in the league, they are slowly slipping behind and their coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer needs to take the blame for how his team is performing on the pitch.

United finished second in the league last season. After that, the club bought Raphael Varane, Jadon Sancho and Cristiano Ronaldo in the transfer window and all of a sudden they were the title contenders along with their arch-rivals, Liverpool and Manchester City. However, after the 9th round, they are seventh in the table with just 14 points in their rank.

Their defense has been very very poor to say the least. Two defensive midfielders Fred and Scott McTominay are nonexistent for the most part of the tournament. Even after that the likes of Donny Van De Beek never gets an opportunity to show what he can do.

During the Euro’s, Luke Shaw was termed as the new Roberto Carlos. However, ever since his arrival in Carrington, his form dropped massively and gave opponents the space they needed. The Captain, Harry Maguire is there everywhere! However, no one is quite sure what he is doing. Raphael Varane’s injury is hurting United and if he doesn’t return back soon, United will definitely fight for a Europa League spot.

Now, talking about the manager, he was or even still is a fan's favorite. The thing he has done with United is massive. Now, it’s true that he hasn’t won any trophy and made some horrible decisions that eventually cost United a trophy. Like the Europa League finals against Villareal in the last season.  Even after all that, the fans supported the Norwegian because the board never gave him the players he needed. This time however he has it but he’s team is struggling on the pitch. Some of his decisions are very much questionable but he fails to realize that and thus are struggling in the points table. His future in the club is already under a scanner and the performance United had against Liverpool might just cost him his job. If not, he definitely has one more match. If not improved, it’s safe to say that United will say goodbye to him and appoint a new manager!
