Shreyas Iyer gets a huge deprival on Day 1 as he dashes towards his gritty ton 

Shreyas Iyer got a massive revival on Day 1 of the ongoing inaugural test match between India and Bangladesh. The match is scheduled at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram on Wednesday, 14th December 2022.

The game was in the 76th when Iyer went down the track to slog off-spinner Mehidy Hasan Miraz’s delivery on the leg side. Bangladesh got off to an exciting start as they successfully sent off India’s top-order batters including KL Rahul (22), Shubman Gill (20), and Virat Kohli (1) early. 

Chesteshwar Pujara anchored the innings, showcasing great self-command against the bowlers. Rishabh Pant also played a short but powerful inning, smashing 46 runs off 45 balls. But the man who deserves the most praise is Shreyas Iyer, he is in sublime touch and completed his fourth half-century today in this format. He will also continue playing tomorrow. Iyer and Pujara combined made it tough for the bowlers by scoring a 147-run stand. With Ravichandran Ashwin yet to bat, India surely has a chance of putting an impressive target on the scoreboard. At the time being, (Day-1 Stumps), India stands on 278/6 in 90 overs with Shreyas Iyer still on the crease with 82 runs off 169 balls.
