Former England batter and Coach Graham Thorpe admitted to hospital after being ‘Seriously ill’
Graham Thorpe, the former English batter and former Coach of the England team has been admitted to the hospital after being seriously ill. At 52, Thorpe was appointed as the head coach of the Afghanistan team after being the batting coach of the England team for quite some time.
The Professional Cricket Association released a statement saying, “Graham Thorpe has fallen ‘seriously ill’ and is currently at hospital receiving treatment. His prognosis is unclear at this stage and we ask for privacy for him and for his family at this time. Our thoughts are with Graham and his family”.
Thorpe has played for Surrey in the county and coached players like Steve Smith and David Warner in Australia before joining the England team. In his tenure he has worked under Trevor Bayliss and then under Silverwood. He was appointed as the head coach of the Afghanistan team in the month of March.
We at Real11 wish him a speedy recovery and hope to see him take charge of the Afghanistan team very soon.
