Aston ruled out of the second test against Sri Lanka due to side strain

Australian all rounder Ashton Agar has been ruled out of the second Test match against Sri Lanka after failing to recover from a side strain. Jon Holland has been added to the squad despite his injury concerns. Agar was hurt in Australia's opening ODI three weeks ago.

Agar did not play even a single game in Australia’s recent tour to Pakistan, after catching COVID in the white ball leg. Mitchell Swepson was chosen over Agar for the inaugural test against Sri Lanka where they beat the hosts by 10 wickets.

Holland suffered a finger injury before Australia A’s four day match against Sri Lanka A. The 35 year old was however seen bowling after the win on Friday.
