Last year’s finalists will kick off the eleventh edition of the Australian T20 League. Reigning champions Sixers take on Stars in the season opener. Sixers being the defending champions will be keen to kickstart their campaign with a win. Led by seasoned all rounder, Moises Henriques, possess plenty of skilful players in fellow Australian Josh Philippe, Ben Dwarshius, and Dan Christian. In addition to the local talent, Sixers have the international experience of James Vince, Chris Jordan, Sam Curran which can come in handy as the Sixers look forward to yet another title winning run. They also have a potent lot of uncapped players. Little contributions from them can prove pivotal as the tournament progresses.   

Stars finished their last season as runners up. Led by Glen Maxwell, the men in green had a great 2020 and would look to replicate more of the same. However their inconsistency has been a matter of concern. They have failed to hold their nerve in crunch situations which has earned them the title of ‘underachievers’. Adam Zampa, Qais Ahmed, Nathan Coulter Nile and Billy Stalnake will hold the key for the Stars bowling department. They can prove more than handy on the bouncy Australian tracks. With Maxwell, Stoinis and Larkin in their batting lineup, the Stars overall lineup looks competitive.
