Following a crushing victory against Australia recently at the Galle International Stadium, Sri Lanka were riding high on confidence. However, a humiliating loss to Pakistan in the most recent Test served as a wake-up call. The team led by Dimuth Karunaratne will be eager to bounce back from its most recent loss and win again.

The Sri Lankan batsmen must improve. The rest did not make an impact, but Dinesh Chandimal, Oshada Fernando, and Kusal Mendis did receive half-centuries. In terms of bowling, Prabath Jayasuriya continues to be their strongest option. In his second game, the rookie racked up a 9-wicket haul. To bring the visitors to their knees, the other bowlers must come up and assist him.

In the fourth innings at the Galle International Stadium, Pakistan did became the first side to successfully chase down 300 or more runs, but there were also chinks in their defence. Only Babar Azam and Abdullah Shafique had successful bats. Their bowlers were in excellent shape and intended to keep up their performance.

Babar Azam would like to maintain his team's winning streak at Galle, but the hosts are still tough opponents, especially with their recent acquisition Jayasuriya. The way the batters from both groups handle spinners on this track might determine everything.
