2nd Match: DSG vs JSK

DSG and JSK will lock horns for the second match of the South Africa T20 League 2022. The match is scheduled at the Kingsmead in Durban and will be played on Wednesday, 11 January. Both sides are acquired by two Indian T20 League franchises namely DSG by the Lucknow side and JSK by Chennai.

The Durban side led by Quinton de Kock is playing the inaugural season of the South Africa T20 League. De Kock is also foreseen as the best batsman from DSG. The 30-year-old Proteas batter retired from Test Cricket in April 2022 and since that he focuses on white-ball cricket and will be crucial for the top order of his side.

Keshav Maharaj is one of the best bowlers for South Africa and will most probably be the highest wicket-taker for the Durban franchise. Maharaj has shattered the illusion that he is more of a red-ball bowler and now has taken the lead spinner’s role for the Proteas in white-ball cricket overtaking Tabrez Shamsi. 

On the other side, the Joburg side will be led by Faf du Plessis in the first season of the league. Coming off fresh from the Australia T20 League, Faf is expected to be the best batter for his side. The 38-year-old may have hung his boots from the international cricket fraternity but still remains one of the best batters in South Africa. 

Alzarri Joseph will play the lead role from the bowling side. The Caribbean speedster is also expected to be the top wicket-taker from JSK. His style of bowling on bouncy surfaces in South Africa will surely trouble the opposition batters.
