In their last match at this venue, Heinrich Klaasen muscled 6 big sixes on his way to a 19-ball fifty. Mayers and Mulder stitched a 62-run opening stand earlier in that innings.

Only Klaasen continued his form in the away game against the same opposition while the rest of the batting lineup failed. Durban has been inconsistent with its performances so far. Mayers has shown intent in almost every inning he’s played and can be an impact player at the top. If he gets going even for the powerplay, he will have done his job.

The wicketkeeper batter Klaasen, on the other hand, has consistently made a significant contribution in the middle order and the DSG would be dependent on him. While the lower order also features Holder and Pretorius, the two may not be relied on for a big finish.

DSG nevertheless very handy batters lower down the order. The skipper himself will be a key player in this game. He scored a fifty in this last appearance at this venue and looked in sublime touch.

Quinton de Kock has a big role to play as a number 3 batter in this batting order. In terms of bowling, Pretorius and Reece Topley are the lead bowlers to watch out for in this DSG attack.

After Joburg robbed Pretoria of a hat-trick of wins, Wayne Parnell and co. bounced back with a win at home. Neesham and Nortje cleaned up the Joburg batting order with 3 wickets each. To bounce back in such a fashion must-have boosted the Capitals’ confidence and they will come to Durban with momentum. It wasn’t any ordinary win.

The Capitals had a 12-hour turnaround after their loss in Johannesburg. Phil Salt has looked in good touch lately. His recent fifty combined with the batting conditions in DSG is sure to raise the hopes of Capitals and Salt himself. His opening partner Will Jacks is also finding the middle of the bat often and the pair can give Pretoria a brilliant start. It is the middle order that would worry Wayne Parnell as they prepare to face Durban.

The left-handed batter Rilee Rossouw has looked completely out of sorts in the season so far. Theunis de Bruyn is a promising middle-order batsman but needs some support in the middle. Neesham and Dadswell are reliable finishers and have the right temperament to play the role with conviction. If Rossouw finds his touch again, the Capitals will be unstoppable.

Nortje, Miguel Pretorius, and Eathen Bosch will be key bowlers to watch out for. Toss will also be important and it would be in their best interest to bat first.
