Spin coach Herath unavailable for Bangladesh's Caribbean tour

Bangladesh’s spin coach Rangana Herath is set to miss out the forthcoming tour of West Indies. The team director Khaled Mahmud confirmed that the legendary spin bowler will not be a part of the touring party as he has applied for leave to be with his family

"Herath will not be available in the West Indies tour as he will be with his family,," Mahmud confirmed.

Despite the political instability back at home, Hearth stayed with the Bangladesh team for the ongoing home series against Sri Lanka.

Hearth took on the coaching role during the Zimbabwe tour and later his contract was extended till the upcoming T20 World Series,  in Australia later this year.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board is yet to name a replacement for Herath, but country’ leading spin coach Sohel Islam is the top contender to fill in his shoes.

As per the draft itinerary, the opening test will be played in Antigua from June 16-20 while the second test will be played in St. Lucia from June 24-28.

The opening two T20Is will be played in St Domnica on July 2 and July 3 respectively while the final T20I will be played in Guyana on July 7.
