Preview

Heat will face Stars in match 23 of the Aus T20 League 2021 at Gabba Brisbane. Hosts will head into this encounter with a lot of confidence after an imposing win against the Strikers in their previous game. Stars on the other hand will be keen to get their campaign on track. They have lost their last two games by considerable margins and thus will be desperate to get back to winning ways. 

Heat’s strength lies in their batting and they look completely a different unit when it clicks. In their recent game against Strikers, batters excelled and did exceptionally well to post a gigantic total of 200. Bowlers then joined the party and picked regular wickets to restrict the opposition to 169. Their premium ball striker Chris Lynn is however yet to make a difference in the tournament and skipper Pierson will be hoping the dashing opener to get some runs on Monday. Bowling department has the likes of Stekette, Swepson, Guthrie and Bazley who have done well so far. Afghan star bowler Mujeeb Ur Rahman is yet to create an impact. He is a key member of this bowling setup and Strikers chances of making it to the playoffs will depend on how he performs.  

The star studded unit of the Stars lineup have done well in patches but have failed to click as a unit. When their batting order delivers, their bowlers fail and when their bowlers do well batters disappoint. The entire squad is in complete disarray and if the concerns are not addressed soon they even have a chance of missing out on a spot in the playoffs. Batting prowess is bolstered by the addition of Andre Rusell who is more than capable to change the fate of a game. He hasn’t done enough this season with bat in hand but we know he requires only one game to get going.  There are plenty of issues with their bowling. Apart from Brody Crouch and Nathan Coulter Nile none of the other bowlers have looked in rhythm. Russell has picked a few wickets but has been fairly expensive. Qais Ahmed has been too short with his lengths. Adam Zampa has been inconsistent. So, the Stars bowling department has to come good on Monday.
