Revealed – The reason why Virat Kohli is not part of the second test against SA

With the recent ongoing things in Indian Cricket, Virat Kohli not playing the second test can raise a lot of questions. Just a few days back, chief selector Chetan Sharma has revealed that the committee has asked Virat not to step down as the T20I captain but the captain didn’t agree to that. Virat, on the other hand has denied this and in a press conference the captain himself mentioned that nothing like that was ever approached. With all this happening, one thing is absolutely clear that no matter how much the fans want the war to end but the board versus Virat fight is very much alive.

On Monday, when the news broke that Virat won’t be part of the test match, the fans started protesting against Sourav Ganguly, the board president and also against the board in general. However, now the reason has been revealed behind this. The Indian red ball captain is suffering from upper back spasm. The stand-in captain KL Rahul has revealed this by saying, “Unfortunately, Virat is having an upper back spasm. The physios are working on him and hopefully he will recover in time for the next test”.

With Shreyas Iyer also suffering from a stomach bug, Hanuma Vihari will be making his return in the test side. He was previously injured and then was dropped from the side before joining the squad at South Africa. With an unstable middle order, Hanuma Vihari will have a lot of responsibility in Virat Kohli’s absence.

As Kohli is out of the match, the captain will not be playing his 100th test at South Africa. If everything goes well, Virat will be playing his 100th test at Chinnaswamy Stadium at Bangalore against Sri Lanka.
