Antonio Rudiger joins Real Madrid on a four year deal!

It was in the rumours for weeks that the hottest defender among free agents was heading to Real Madrid and with a Here We Go from Fabrizio Romano, it is now confirmed the Chelsea defender will leave Stanford Bridge this summer and will join the Blancos at Madrid. The 29-year old has already completed his medical and will join the side on a four year deal. The German International will earn around 6.8 million Euro per season and have certain bonuses on his contract.

Carlo Ancelotti, the head coach of Real Madrid wanted to sign Antonio for quite some time and Florentino Perez gave him just that. Real Madrid let Sergio Ramos and Raphael Varane leave last summer and replaced them with the pair of David Alaba and Eder Militao. The duo have done really well but Ancelotti wants Alaba to play as a left back and thus Rudiger can give the much needed boost to Madrid in defence. He is a leader of the team and has shown his class multiple times in Chelsea and previously with Roma.

Despite Thomas Tuchel wanting him to stay, the German International decided to leave the club after the government of England has put a sanction on Chelsea. The team is unable to extend the contract of the players and that is the reason why many top players decided to join other teams. Chelsea did find a new owner in the form of Todd Boehly but he is yet to create an impact.

It is expected that Rudiger will perfectly sync in the system of Carlo Ancelotti and their defence will just get better. Now, if Kylian Mbappe joins the side in the summer, it can become one of the hardest teams to beat and will definitely compete for the Champions League every season. With Rudiger, Madrid can only get better.
