India was surely very much disappointed as they came so close to that win yet so far. There were so many positives to take into the next T20 game, Deepti Sharma smashed 36 off 15 balls and Richa Ghosh scored 36 from 20 balls. They both kept India’s hope alive in the competition. India has achieved a record score of 172 runs which is the most against Australia in a T20 International.

Jemimah Rodrigues was dismissed for a duck and it was shocking as she was averaging at 31.04 and is a reliable batter in T20Is. She would need to work on their mistakes to get better and stronger in the next match. 

There was a cumulative effort from India in terms of their batting side and the fans will look forward to someone taking charge in the next match vs the mighty Aussies. 

The Indian bowling side was unlucky in the first match. Devika Vaidya was the only player to take a wicket but she gave away 33 runs for an economy rate of 11.00 in that process. 

India playing on their home ground must have been the favourites to win the match but Australia played with the full pace of their batting side. Beth Mooney scored 89 runs, which was such an incredible inning that the Indian bowlers failed to find an answer for her.  

Skipper Alyssa Healy and Tahlia McGrath assisted Mooney to chase runs at her own pace. She was also a fantastic player in the Australia Women’s T20 League for the Perth side. Indian bowers surely need to find a solution to this Aussie batting wizard. 

The Australian bowling side was also disappointing with the ball, only Ellyse Perry and Annabel Sutherland managed to restrict the Indian batters. Perry picked 2 wickets for 10 runs and Sutherland took 1 wicket giving away just 21 runs in the process. Indian batters should focus on exploiting Megan Schutt and Alana King in their next game as they were a bit disappointing with the ball.
