Dutch coach Ryan Campbell is hospitalised following a heart attack!

Former Australian wicket-keeper and the current head coach of the Netherlands Cricket Team, Ryan Campbell has been hospitalised after suffering from a heart attack. It has been reported that Campbell was playing with three of his children before he collapsed to the ground.

The 50-year old represented Australia in 2 ODI’s in 2002 when the first choice keeper batter Adam Gilchrist was on paternity leave. The Aussie later went on to play for Hong Kong and represented the nation in the 2016 T20 World Series. Campbell also has the record of being the oldest player to make his t20I debut. He was 44 years and 30 days when he achieved this milestone.

He is the coach of the Dutch team for 5 years now and he along with his team just toured New Zealand for a bilateral series against the Blackcaps. He has played 98 first class games and has more than 6000 runs to his name.

The CEO of WA Cricket Christina Matthews in a statement said, “WA Cricket is in shock to hear of Ryan's medical emergency after suffering a major heart attack over the long weekend. On behalf of all WA Cricket staff, players and the wider cricket community, I would like to pass on our heartfelt thoughts to Ryan, his wife Leontina and their family at this time. We know he is in the best care, and hope he pulls through and is able to make a full and speedy recovery.”
