With the final test and the T20I series done and dusted, the focus now shifts to the last and final series of the tour. India would play England for three ODIs from 12th to 17th July. The Rohit-led side would be optimistic about their chances after getting a fruitful result in the T20Is. 

Now as the team sums up, it’s likely to happen in the absence of KL Rahul, the Indian veteran batsman Shikhar Dhawan is likely to open with the captain. They have extremely good records while opening together and fans will enthusiastically hope to get that old touchback. In number 3, it’s quite clear that Virat will get a favourable spot. Despite his poor form, the skipper has already promised his support to the Indian batsman. Now according to the current situation, there is no other than Suryakumar Yadav to occupy the fifth spot. Other than that as usual Rishabh Pant plays as the keeper and Hardik Pandya joins him to fulfil the finisher’s role in the 5th and 6th spots. Ravindra Jadeja or Axar Patel are on the 7th spot followed by Shardul. Chahal the specialist spinner will be assisted by Bumrah and Shami playing as the prime pacers.

Indian team has assembled a full-strength ODI squad after a long time. With nearly all players in good form, India would try to use their firepower and kickstart the series with a win.

On the other side, the hosts would be thinking of playing an aggressive form of cricket as they did against the Netherlands which brought them success. They thrashed the Netherlands in their last ODI series and recorded the hight ever total in One-Day Internationals. They have numerous batting options like Jos Buttler, Jason Roy, Liam Livingstone, and Jonny Bairstow leading the pack. 

England won the last T20I match recording their highest-ever total against India, and they would hope to continue with the same impetus in the first ODI.
