Hurricanes and Renegades will be crossing swords in match 54 of the Australian T20 League 2021-22 at the Docklands Stadium, Melbourne on Tuesday. Canes have blown hot and cold this season. Having won six of their 12 games, they are currently placed at fifth in the league standings. They defeated Thunders by nine runs in their recent fixture. Renegades on the other hand had an abysmal season thus far. With 15 points to their name, the men in red are reeling at the bottom of the table. 

Hurricanes have done exceptionally well to regain momentum and recover after a dismal performance in the middle phase. In their last game against Wade and co put up a spirited show to outplay the defending champions. Batting first they posted a competitive total of 173 against a decent Thunders bowling attack. Wade led the charge with an unbeaten 54 ball 83. Bowlers then backed their batters and restricted the opposition to 168. Riley Meredith was the pick of the Hurricane bowlers. He ended the match with figures of 3/29. He enjoyed good support from Thompson at the other end who also took three important scalps. Ben Mcdermott, Matthew Wade and Caleb Jewel will be the batters to watch out for this game. D’arcy Short is going through a rough patch with the bat and would be keen to get some runs under his belt. Sandeep Lamichanne, Riley Meridith and Thompson will be the bowlers to keep an eye on. 

The men in red have been below par this season. Maddinson and co could only muster only 15 points thus far and as a result find themselves at the bottom of the table. Despite having the likes of Finch and Marsh in their batting department, Maddinson and co have struggled to perform consistently. Frazer Mcgurk and Harvey have shown promise but have failed to create any real impact. Richardson has been the lone warrior with the ball in hand. Zahir Khan and Will Sutherland have done well in patches. Overall the squad is in shambles. They will need a miracle in order to gain victory against a vivacious Hurricanes squad.
