Ishan Kishan stays with Mumbai for 15.25 crores while Pooran moves to Punjab
Mumbai gets their man Ishan Kishan after failing to retain him before the auction. The franchise, who has never spent more than 10 crores on a player in the auction table, broke the bank and spent a whooping 15.25 crores to get Ishan on board. The Indian International has also expressed his gratitude for the club and said, “I am so happy to be back in Mumbai. Everyone treated me like a family over there”. Teams like Punjab, Gujarat and Hyderabad were behind this 23-year-old but failed to get him.
After missing out on Kishan, Hyderabad went for Nicolas Pooran and was in a bidding war with Chennai and Kolkata but finally got their man for 10.75 crores. The Caribbean is not in a great form lately but in a new franchise and under Brian Lara, he might flourish and bring another title for Hyderabad. The team also spent a lot of money on Washington Sundar as the Indian all-rounder is all set to play for this team. Washington Sundar was bought for 8.75 crores.
Former Kolkata captain Dinesh Karthik will be dawning the red jersey of Bangalore once again. In a bidding war with Chennai and won the war. He will be playing for Bangalore for 5.5 crores. Along with him, the Lankan all-rounder Hasaranga will also be playing for Bangalore. The franchise bought this player for 10.75 crores.
Krunal Pandya is one such player who was wanted by a lot of teams in the auction room. Punjab, Chennai, Lucknow and Hyderabad wanted this player but he will be playing for Lucknow in the upcoming Indian T20 League for 8.25 crores.
Talking about other players. Mitchell Marsh will be playing for Delhi for 6.25 crores while Ambati Rayudu has been brought in by Chennai for 6.75 crores. The English wicket-keeper batsman Jonny Bairstow will be playing for Punjab for 6.75 crores.
