Shakib Al Hasan becomes No.1 T20I all rounder

Bangladesh skipper Shakib Al Hasan has moved up a spot to become the No. 1 ranked T20I all rounder. Hasan has replaced Afghanistan’s Mohammad Nabi following an excellent outing in the just concluded tri series against New Zealand and Pakistan.

While Bangladesh failed to even win a single match in the series, Shakib was impressive with bat in hand. He scored 154 runs in three matches at a blistering strike rate of 150.98. He smashed a 44 ball 70 in the match against New Zealand and followed up with a 42 ball 68 against Pakistan. He now has 266 rating points, 20 ahead of Nabi.

Namibia’s JJ Smit broke into the top five all rounders while Zimbabwe Sikandar Raza entered the top ten following their splendid starts in the first round of the T20 World Series. Smit climbed four places up to fourth following his 1 for 16 in addition to scoring an unbeaten 31 and 2 for 24 against Sri Lanka and Netherlands respectively. Raza, who has been at the heart of Zimbabwe’s resurgence in world cricket continued his superb form in the World Series, scoring a 48 ball 82 and picking up one wicket against Ireland.

Among the batters, New Zealand’s prolific run getter Glenn Phillips jumped 13 spots to 10 after aggregating 130 runs in 4 innings- including a whirlwind 24 ball 60- in the tri series.

Afghanistan’s Mujeeb Ur Rahman moved up two places to fifth position in the bowling charts. South Africa’s Keshav Maharaj went one spot up to Number 8.

Pakistan’s dashing opener Mohammad Rizwan (861 points) further consolidated his position at the top of the rankings after another consistent showing during the New Zealand tri series, while India’s Suryakumar Yadav is behind him with 838 points.
