Preview

CS will take on GG in the seventh match of the Sri Lanka T20 League 2022. The match is scheduled at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium on Sunday, December 11. The game will commence at 03:00 PM IST. Both the teams have played two games so far, out of that the Colombo-based franchise has won one match and the Galle side has lost both matches. CS is in third place and GG is sitting at the bottom end of the points table. 

CS won their second match against DA by a narrow margin of 9 runs. Opener Niroshan Dickwella smashed 62 runs off just 41 balls to anchor the innings to a total of 165 runs. The Colombo batters faced a backlog in scoring some fast runs because of Lahiru Kumara who picked four wickets to restrict the flow of runs. Later in the second half, Suranga Lakmal, Dominic Drakes and Karim Janat added two wickets each to restrict Dambulla to 156 runs. The top five batters were good at their job but the tailenders failed to cause an impact on the run chase. 

On the other hand, GG scored 121 runs in the first innings with the help of Mohin Subasingha who scored 40 runs off 31 balls. Carlos Brathwaite from the other side took a four-fer to restrict them to a low-scoring target. Kamindu Mendis added 44 runs off 34 balls to chase the target in 15 overs to win the match by 5 wickets.

Match Prediction

The Colombo side will be flying high on confidence after their first victory of the tournament and will try to keep their dominance.  On the other end, Galle is still awaiting a victory and would try their level best to win this match.
