Strikers will host Hurricanes at the iconic Adelaide Cricket Ground on Wednesday. With 28 points and 7 wins to their name, the hosts are currently positioned at fifth on the points table. They lost their previous encounter against Thunders by 22 runs. Hurricanes on the other hand will be heading into this clash on the back of a 15 run loss against Heat. While Strikers are placed at fifth, Canes are just a rank later at sixth position. Both teams will be keen to gain a win and move up the league standings.   

Strikers have had an inconsistent season so far. Their batting has been abysmal right  throughout the 14 games they have been a part of. Matthew Short and Jake Weatherald haven’t done much up the order, Matt Renshaw and Johnathan Wells are scoring runs but at a sluggish pace. Harry Neilsen has not played to his full potential and Thomas Kelly is yet to find his form. They will need to sort out their batting concerns before this key clash. Led by Matthew Wade, Canes have had a hot and cold season up till now. With 7 wins and as many losses, the men in purple will be desperate to start the second half with a win and get their campaign back on track. Their batting looks potent with Ben Mcdermott leading the charge. He is in supreme touch and will be eager to continue his golden run with the bat. Tim David is another player to watch out for. He is a more than handy all rounder who adds value with his power hitting ability with bat in hand and prowess to fox the opposition batters with his off breaks. Jordan Thompson and Nathan Ellis will shoulder the responsibility of the bowling attack. Riley Meridith and Thomas Rogers can extract some assistance from the skitty nature of the Adelaide Cricket Ground. All eyes will however be on Sandeep Lamichhane. The nepalese spinner has struggled to find his feet in the tournament so far. It would be interesting to see how he performs against a strong Hurricanes batting unit.
