'He is like a kid on the field', Glenn Maxwell reveals the inner child of this Indian legend
Aussie World Cup winner and present Bengaluru player, Glenn Maxwell is having a rough patch in the Indian T20 League 2024. His performance has been so low that the former Indian batter, Aakash Chopra has also demanded his exclusion from the Starting XI.
Maxwell has only 50 runs to his name with two ducks and has been one of the key reasons behind Bangalore’s failure in the tournament. Yet, he is relishing his time with Virat Kohli who has made his return to cricket after a long time.
He took this break to travel to London with Anushka Sharma who gave birth to their second child, Akaay. He skipped the five-match Test series against England but decided to gear up for the Red Devils.
In a conversation, Maxwell spoke about Virat and said, “He has come back to the group nicely and is dancing around with guys. Kohli is like a kid, who wants to be around. I have to remind him of his age because he is making me look bad.”
With three losses and one win, Bangalore are placed ninth in the points table. Virat has been in sublime form this season and has accumulated 203 runs in 4 matches with a striking rate of 67.67. The Indian run-machine has been the Orange Cap holder but has not received any support from Faf du Plessis, Rajat Patidar, Glenn Maxwell and Cameron Green.
The bowling side has also led down the expectations and if not made immediate effects, they will fall behind and hence fail to qualify for the next stage of the tournament. Mohammed Siraj being the most experienced bowler will have to lead the bowling attack.
