‘Kolkata or Mumbai’, Virat Kohli Chooses His Favourite Rival Team
Virat Kohli is unarguably the best batsman in the Indian T20 League history. The Bengaluru franchise star batter is also the highest run-scorer in the tournament.
He has been in the franchise since the beginning of the cash-rich league in 2008 and has also led the Red Devils for years.
Recently Virat Kohli named his favourite rival franchise from the Indian T20 League. As per him, he loves to compete against the title defenders the most. Virat played in his first league game against the Knights on April 18, 2008. While Kolkata drafted a huge 222 runs, Bengaluru was bundled for just 82 runs in which Virat managed to score a mere 1 run off 5 deliveries.
The Indian run machine has been a part of 34 games against Kolkata and accumulated 962 runs. He has hot one hundred and six half-centuries against the three-time champions.
The right-handed batter has scored a total of 8004 runs in 252 Indian T20 League matches including 8 tons and 55 fifties. Bengaluru has never won an Indian T20 League title despite being a part of three finals. Kohli is expected to be a part of the franchise in the 2025 season after the mega auctions.
In the International arena, Kohli will be seen in action against Bangladesh in the two-match Test series in India. He recently competed in a three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka but failed to perform well as India lost by a margin of 0-2. He along with his compatriot Rohit Sharma retired from T20Is after the T20 WC triumph hosted in the West Indies and the United States of America.
