Defending Champions Kolkata Kick Off IND T20 League 2025 Against Bangalore

The 18th season of the biggest T20 league is not far away. Although the Indian Cricket Board hasn’t officially announced the schedule, IND T20 League 2025 will likely begin in the third week of March. This season, teams will undergo major changes, with several long-time players joining new franchises.

Reports suggest that the IND T20 League 2025 will start on March 22, and the final will take place on May 25 at Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

According to reports, Kolkata, the defending champion and three-time IND T20 League winners, will face southern side Bangalore in the opening match on March 22. The second match, on March 23, will feature Hyderabad, last season’s runner-up, against Rajasthan at Hyderabad’s home ground.

Although the Indian Cricket Board has yet to release the official schedule, it has already informed franchises about their key matches. After the Board’s special general meeting on January 12, Rajiv Shukla hinted at a March 23 start. However, the Board later decided to begin the tournament a day earlier and will soon announce the complete schedule.

This season, teams will play all matches at their home grounds. Guwahati and Dharamshala will also host some games, as the Pink Army Rajasthan has used Guwahati as a secondary home ground in recent seasons, and northern side Punjab play select matches in Dharamshala along with Mullanpur.

Reports also indicated that Hyderabad will host Qualifier 1 and the Eliminator, while Kolkata will host Qualifier 2 and the final at Eden Gardens.
