3 veteran batters who might not feature in the Indian T20 League 2023

After the football WC, now it is time for the World’s biggest cricket league. The mini-auction of the Indian T20 League 2023 will take place in Kochi, Kerala on December 23 this Friday. This year's auction can be watched on the official broadcasting network which is likely to start at 06:00 PM IST. According to official sources, 405 players will go under the hammer in this year’s Indian T20 League. Many veteran players still need to send their names for the Mini Auction.

Only 2 days left for the players to be auctioned in the Indian T20 League 2023. Of the 405 players shortlisted for the auction, 87 players will be taken part in the Auction- bidding. Out of these 405 players around the world, 123 players are capped players. Some of these capped players have a lot of experience playing in the Indian T20 League.

However, Legendary batters like Chris Gayle, Steve Smith and Aaron Finch might not be featured in this year’s auction but all these players have always given their best while playing for the national team or the franchise team.

Chris Gayle:

West Indies’ destructive opening batter Chris Gayle is one of the most successful players in the Indian T20 League. He will not be part of the auction this year. The left-handed batter has won the hearts of millions of fans with his astonishing performance in the Indian T20 League. He has played a total of 142 matches in the Indian T20 League. During this, he has scored 4965 runs at an average of around 40. He has also scored 6 centuries in Indian T20 League. The Universe boss also scored the highest individual score in this league in 2013 by playing a mammoth inning of 175 runs.

Steve Smith:

Australia’s unorthodox batter Steve Smith, one of the best Aussies players, was a part of the Indian T20-Franchise Delhi in the year 2021. Then in the 2022 Indian T20 League, Delhi decided to release him. He could not find any franchise that can target him in the year 2022. Perhaps the reason was his poor performance in the game's shortest format. In the 2021 Indian T20 League, he could only score 152 runs in 8 matches at an average of 25.33. During this, his strike rate was also 112. Like many other Australian cricketers, Warner, and Maxwell can change the mode of the game at any moment in T20, but it seems Smith fails to do so.

Aaron Finch:

Australia T20I team skipper Aaron Finch was part of the Kolkata team last year in the Indian T20 League. He has scored 2091 runs at an average of 25 while batting in 90 Indian T20 League innings. His highest score is 88 in this league. He won’t be taking part in this year’s Indian T20 League. For the Australian side, he has played 20 matches this year and scored 520 runs, averaging 28.44 in the year 2022. Meanwhile, Australia was knocked out before the quarter-final in WC 2022 in its backyard.
