Gill, Rashid, Jofra, Chahal, Ishan – Players that might not get retained by their team

Drama and more drama as the Indian T20 league just got super exciting. With every auction, comes new challenges for the teams and in this mega auction, teams are getting bamboozled by their players. Most of the players are looking for a big money contract and thus, it is affecting the plans of all the franchises.

According to reports, Rashid Khan is parting with Hyderabad after the legendary leg-spinner wants more money from the Hyderabad franchise than the team is offering. Hyderabad was offering Rashid Khan the second spot while Kane Williamson was given the first spot where the Kiwi was supposed to earn 15 crore. Rashid wanted that contract and with Hyderabad backed out from that, the Afghani is all set to join the new Lucknow franchise for almost a similar fee that was offered to him by Hyderabad.

This has been in the news for quite some time now. However, what’s surprising is that Shubman Gill has been let go by the Kolkata franchise as the purple and gold is all set to retain Venkatesh Iyer, Sunil Narine, Andre Russell and Varun Chakravarthy. This is a very bold decision for the franchise to not retain Gill, who definitely is the future of Indian Cricket.

Along with all these, Yuzi Chahal might face the axe as the Bangalore franchise is yet to finalize his contract after these two parties failed to meet the finance. Chahal leaving Bangalore will be a huge blow to the franchise as the spinner has the capabilities to win games all by himself.

Another shocking development that has happened in the last 24 hours is that Ishan Kishan might not get retained by the Mumbai franchise. Take it with a pinch of salt but by the looks of it, Mumbai is going to retain Rohit and Bumrah only. Champion team not retaining more than two players is very shocking.

Punjab may end up retaining two or three non capped Indian players and are likely to let go Mohammed Shami, Nicolas Pooran and others. It won’t be surprising if they end up retaining Mayank Agarwal.

Rajasthan are retaining Sanju Samson, Jos Buttler and Yashasvi Jaiswal. Joffra Archer, one of the premium first bowler and one of the best all-rounders in the world, Ben Stokes will be available for others to pick. Very surprising, isn’t it?
