Scott McTominay was included in the starting XI in Manchester United's last two matches. The Red Devils' winning goal was scored by Harry Maguire in the 72nd minute. The 30-year-old defender broke United's deadlock after heading home the ball from Christian Eriksen's pass. Maguire and Andre Onana were important actors behind United's achievement of three points. Meanwhile, Scott McTominay almost brought United down. Erik ten Hag's troops almost fell into the abyss in the 90+5 minute. Starting from a corner kick situation, referee Marco Guida pointed to the spot. Manchester United was awarded a penalty. The penalty was given after McTominay committed a foul on Elyounoussi. This moment happened so fast, that Elyounoussi wanted to control the ball, but McTominay's foot was too high and hit Elyounoussi's body.

Before making a mistake which resulted in a penalty, McTominay scored a goal and put United 1-0 up. This match ended with a score of 2-1 for the Red Devils.
