The 2nd match of the Asia ODI Series 2023 will be played between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh on August 31 at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Kandy.

Sri Lanka defeated Pakistan in the previous edition of the Asia T20 Series to be crowned the Champions of the Asian Continent. 

They have a collective unit of ferocious batters and cunning bowlers. They have a fabulous form in the One-day format of cricket. Their stellar performance in the Men’s Cricket World Championship Qualifiers made them the champions in the tournament while also remaining unbeaten.

On the other side, Bangladesh are playing below par as seen in their recent One Day International matches. They are coming off a loss in a 3-match ODI series against Afghanistan by 2-1.

Before that, they emerged victorious against Ireland in a 3-match series but lost to England in March this current year by a margin of 2-1.

Match Prediction

Bangladesh has a strong team but the side doesn’t perform collectively as a unit. They previously failed against Sri Lanka in multilateral tournaments. They don't have a good track record of playing on Lankan soil either. On the other side, the Sri Lankans have injury issues that’s right but they are tough to defeat at their base and also have performed brilliantly in the ODI format in recent times.
